Stars are an in-game method of ranking villagers. Star ratings are determined at the point of conception (or when they enter your game, if you purchase adult villagers), and are a good indicator of a villager's skill level.

Villagers are ranked from one to six stars.

Rankings[]

One-Star villagers[]

Most of your villagers will probably fall into this category. One star villagers are born with two skill shields, inherited from their parents, and will gain a third upon their thirteenth birthday.

Two-Star villagers[]

Two-star villagers can be obtained from standard charms, but will more more often be gained from Premium Charms.

They are born with two inherited skills and two additional (random) skill shields (often giving them four different skills). They will then gain a fifth skill shield on their thirteenth birthday.

Three-Star villagers[]

Three-star villagers are obtained from Premium or Deluxe charms. They are born with the two standard inherited skills, along with three other skill shields. They will be born with mastery of one skill (often one of the inherited skills). They will gain a sixth shield on their thirteenth birthday.

Four-Star villagers[]

Four-star villagers are obtained from Premium or Deluxe charms. They are born with two inherited skill shields, and four or five additional shields. This gives them mastery of two skills (at least one inherited one). On their thirteenth birthday, they will gain an additional shield (the seventh or eighth).

Five-Star villagers[]

Five-star villagers are obtained from Deluxe charms. They are born with the two inherited skill shields, and ten additional shields. This gives them mastery of four skills. On their thirteenth birthday. they will gain a thirteenth shield to use in one of the remaining two skills.

Six-Star villagers (Heroes)[]

Six-star villagers are obtained from Woodland Hero charms. They are masters of all six skills.

Marriage[]

Star ranking is only particularly important when villagers get married. Preference is always given to the villager with the highest star rating: i.e.

  • if a two-star man marries a one-star woman, the couple will live in the groom's village;
  • if a three-star woman marries a one-star man, the couple will live in the bride's village.

If the couple are both the same rating, the draw is random.

  • It should be noted that some players have reported issues with this system. Playdemic have determined that the star rating of a villager does not always show accurately on the Dating forum. Therefore, it is always worth checking a villager's shields before embarking on marriage if you are worried about losing a high-starred villager.

Adding skills[]

While it is possible to add to your villager's skills by spending 95 gems per shield, this will not increase their star rating. It is not advisable, therefore, to add skills before marriage - particularly to one- or two-starred villagers.

Trivia[]

  • Star ratings are not hereditary. Two six-star parents will have a one- or two-star baby if you use the free charm.
